Sus raíces se encuentran en la naturaleza y la riqueza de sus elementos, también presentes en Sábana Centro, tierra con la que tiene una especial conexión: el oro, los peces, los árboles y la magia que estos encierran. Osorio incorpora la diversidad de la fauna y la flora, la abundancia de los ríos y el agua que fluye con gracia, están presentes en muchas de sus piezas. Los animales también son muy importantes. Los encuentros que el maestro ha tenido con ellos le inspiran. El aspecto hispanista está presente en su repertorio; en los que subyacen escenas propias de la conquista. Los antiguos habitantes, construían fortalezas para evitar la entrada de predadores e invasores, de igual forma puentes y cercados para conectarse con otros lugares; Hoy, Carlos es una conexión entre varios municipios; que se extienden desde el famoso Castillo Marroquín hasta el camino que conduce a Zipaquirá. Carlos Osorio on #AdsClicked Text Carlos Osorio is full of artistic ability. It seems that every piece of art he puts out is by a different artist. It begins with his connection to the Sabana Centro. He finds his roots in the gold, the fish, and the trees that are the magic of the jungle. The land is fertile for his expression. He incorporates fauna and flora into many of his pieces. Animals are very important to him, like lions and tigers that were natural to this area. Encounters with wild animals inspires him when they come into his presence. The water and the rivers are abundant and his work flows with this grace. The Spanish are influenced in his art as he tries to express the Queen Isabel and the arrival of the conquistadors. Christopher Columbus tried to find Africa and then India when he arrived at America and this confusion is evident in the art of Carlos. Queen Isabel wanted to preserve this nature that Columbus found and much of Carlos´ art needs to be protected as well. His inspiration can be said to be originating with Monte Pincio as it has direction for all the area. Osorio is also a guide for the creativity for much of the area and this needs to be respected. Naturally the waters coming into the area provided nutrients to the land and created seasons for cultivation. Carlos is cyclical and works throughout the year following what pulls him, a cause by nature itself. Much like the Indians of the original time he surrounds himself in his homestead with a gate that keeps out the animals and predators. The Indians of the past time-built walls to connect the towns. Carlos is a connection to the whole area, from the Castillo Marroquín all the way to Zipaquirá and beyond, many leagues away. Text Osorio's History Present Text Osorio trae cultura de todas las facetas de la vida The conquistadors were interested in the emeralds, the corn and other natural elements who worked hard to pass down their skills to the young ones. Carlos in the same way has built a transformation of knowledge. In many ways he is a leader of the tribe in his own right. His art within the last forty years is an explosion of effort reflected as the Indians for a forty-year time span had to adapt to the conquistadors. They took on Catholicism and Carlos himself has a battle with many ideas and reflections that are evident in his art. The then founding of Bogotá was a dramatic experience to the Indians and their fortress. The reason is that their habitat was not made from streets and avenues but rather open space. They had four view points within their fortress to observe intruders and this concept was adopted by the Spanish when designing the squares of the towns for not only protection but also to invite the Indians into their new communities. Carlos has a watchful eye on who can enter his presence and he much the same way takes careful consideration on who he chooses to share his works. His great workshop tries to capture all the history and beauty of the area. His art is built with different materials and techniques that come naturally to Carlos. Understanding what surrounds him and where his inspiration comes from allows him to capture amazing transformations of concept. The Spanish wanted to erase the history of the Indians because the Spanish believed that the Indians were animals and had nothing to offer. The jewelry they wore was simply for celebrations and the rest of their society was meaningless to the Spanish. Carlos tries to expose his acceptance for many things that have deep roots in tradition. Carlos knows much about legends and stories from how different regions came to be here in the Sabana Centro. For example, how technology arrived and how he can use it to better his art. Sometimes he uses his depth of knowledge and conscious to bring to life things that are hidden within the society. Su grandioso taller intenta capturar toda la historia y la belleza de la zona. Emplea diferentes materiales y técnicas que han llegado de manera natural a su vida. Carlos conoce lo que rodea y cuando la inspiración le visita genera increíbles transformaciones de aquel concepto. Los españoles deseaban borrar la historia indígena porque se creía que estos últimos eran animales sin nada que ofrecer. La joyería que usaban era sutil para las celebraciones y el resto de la sociedad no poseía significado alguno para los españoles. Carlos intenta exponer la aceptación de estos acontecimientos en el imaginario colectivo y como estas tiene sus raíces profundas en la tradición. Carlos encuentra el camino a su extraordinario pasado a través de su arte: el cual está lleno de colores y texturas, siendo testigo de su tiempo y de aquellas transiciones que ocurrieron en el de manera cíclica; estas pueden ser observadas, si se escrudiñan cuidadosamente, Los símbolos de belleza y brillantez pueden encontrase en el universo indígena. El mismo Carlos intenta capturarlas en su quehacer artístico. Las rocas y los animales que son creaturas desde su forma y concepto fueron importantes en el pasado y el artista se esfuerza en construir dichos elementos en su trabajo. Al estudiar las publicaciones del colonialismo, uno puede quedar impresionado con el tiempo y esfuerzo dedicado a su realización, su arte y las palabras utilizadas para expresar la magnífica locación a la que Dios mismo les había traído. Los indígenas poseían un carácter pacífico, y deseaban armonía con los colonos, algunos de ellos no contaban con buena reputación, desde que decidieron unirse a Colón. Al mostrar a los recién llegados la abundante creatividad de Carlos -y así como era el deseo original de los indígenas-, el orden se mantiene en casa. Tener una comunidad abundante es importante para toda la región de Sabana Centro y una lenta adquisición del poder adquisitivo, demostraría con creces la durabilidad y consistencia de la carrera que Carlos ha forjado a lo largo de los años. Even though they had a power with salt they did not have outright military, rather they had a religious concept or war that was full of mysticism. Carlos’ art is his armament and he can show the battels he has fought and use that experience to fortify his direction and rights to continue to inspire. The Indians had an interesting calendar based on the moon that went up to 56 months of three rings. It is possible to find the date based on what ring in the past something happened. Carlos can find his way through his own extraordinary past by looking at his art. His art filled with colors and textures show the moment in time that things happened, and these transitions happen to him in cycles that can be observed by someone studying his transitions. The symbols of beauty and brilliance can be found in the symbolism of the Indians. Carlos himself tries to make art that captures the beauty and brilliance that finds its way into his life. Rocks and animals that are complete creatures of form and concept were important long ago and Carlos uses all his efforts to put the construction of elements into his work. Studying the magazines from the colonialism one can be impressed with the time and effort put into the publications and the art and words they used to express the magnificent location God had brought them to live within. All the surroundings from long ago filled the hearts and minds of the conquistadors with thoughts of heaven. Carlos freely expresses this concept in his art as he shows how a Higher Power persists in being present throughout out the area providing for all those who come to venture here. The Indians were very peaceful and wanted to protect the peace with the colonials who often were very bad people who had followed Columbus. By showing newcomers the abundance of Carlos’ creativity, he too like the Indians can maintain order within his place. Having a plentiful community is important for all the Sabana Centro and a slow progression of purchasing power will demonstrate the strong outlasting endurance that Carlos has driven his career. If your nature does call you to throw up your arms in desperation because you cannot speak two languages, then maybe you do need to head to San Jerónimo ice cream parlor to get your fix on something that will chill you out. Being bilingual or something more is not something that should be held as the greatest achievement known to walk the earth, but it should be respected. When talking to someone in a culture that does not accept outside influences they can be confused when talking to a foreigner who is talking their own language. The locals can think they are listening to English or they may even believe that they are talking in English. This is even when every word coming out of the mouth of the foreigner is their local language and every word they have spoken or grasped onto is also their local language. When everything is translated for them, the local people will insist that they had some part in the translating of the conversation even though that is not the case. Thinking you’ve heard another language just because a person looks different or says it with an accent does not make it another language. Speaking Spanish is difficult because in this language people believe they can tell your family history by listening to you, they can detect every nuance of your past simply through your voice. They can trace the family lineage based on the tone of your voice. One can see where you studied and how much money you have by the overtures you express with your words. However, none of this is true and you can see a local react for five to ten seconds when they encounter someone new or a new voice that has entered the room as they try to ascertain as much information they can from the vibratos they receive from listening to the person. Strangers to this land can enjoy something right alongside the locals that they too desire. Common ground is important not only spiritually but also economically and in a friendly atmosphere. Finding something to share across cultures bridges many gaps that often are the first things to be put on the table. But when the serious conversation has come to its peak, like the frozen iced capped mountains, it’s time to meet half way over a delicatessen ice cream bowl. When you get to the bottomless lake in the nook of a mountain knowing all the gold has sunk and there is no way to retrieve it, you must step back, throw all the garbage in your life into the lake and take a deep breath, take some time to soak in a history lesson and wonder why all these people that surround the greatest treasure on earth are just going on with their daily life. Small little details that must be accomplished before you can set aside everything to be with yourself. Cleaning is one example of how people avoid the time with themselves. Putting everything in order so you can work or tidying up all the last details so in the end you will feel that there is a space for you to do what comes naturally. But, most of us don’t make it to this time where we can sit with ourselves naturally. We are so busy trying to make others needs met and not giving ourselves time to have simple pleasures. Some people don’t function on a reward-based opportunity system. Others feel giving themselves small rewards along the way can be beneficial. But this can lead to very bad habits, and if all your habits are based on reward then you are at your own demise to think of the greatest pleasure to pursue. If you are saving up for a big reward in the end you may never see what makes up the big picture and have nothing to enjoy along the way. Time with yourself is not a reward, rather it is a growth period. You can learn to reflect and take time to absorb all the thoughts and feelings that surround you. It’s not meditation and you will probably experience feelings that you are ashamed of to begin with in your efforts to find yourself. The town tends to close all tourist attractions for religious festivals, as well, many sites stay closed the Tuesday following a Monday day off and some even until Wednesday. I would suggest for my next trip to plan to travel on Wednesday and have my first official day in Villa de Leyva starting on a Thursday to go through the weekend (accounting that there is no other religious holiday that Sunday). There are countless things to do and many are not promoted to the nth degree and can easily be missed. The main attractions on everybody’s list are the pozos or blue lakes, the ostrich farm and ranch with other animals and fun, the dinosaur bones and ancient finds from years past, the main square where many festivals occur, the terracotta house that would make a great place to live, and of course the many fantastic museums. Villa de Leyva sería un excelente lugar para comenzar otra publicación como la “Revista Milla de Oro”. Se llamaría “Pozos Digitales”. El nombre estaría inspirado en los pozos de agua azul eléctrica que se encuentran a pocos kilómetros de la plaza principal de Villa de Leyva. La razón por la cual la ciudad es un lugar propicio para la creación de otra revista digital, se debe a sus atracciones turísticas y hoteles, así como las elegantes boutiques de decoración y restauración para el hogar. A cualquiera visitante, le encantaría tener un compañero digital que los acompañase, guiándolos a través de potenciales jornadas repletas de diversión. Hay suficientes historias locales para cubrir meses enteros de interactividad con los viajeros. Cuando tuve la oportunidad de visitarla por primera vez, fue durante un fin de semana de vacaciones. La ciudad tiende a cerrar todas las atracciones turísticas por motivo de las celebraciones religiosas, también, muchos sitios permanecen cerrados el martes después de un lunes festivo, algunos, incluso, hasta el miércoles. Sugiero que mi próximo viaje sea un miércoles y que mi primer día oficial en Villa de Leyva comience el jueves para pasar el fin de semana. (Teniendo en cuenta que no hay otro día festivo religioso más allá del domingo). Hay innumerables cosas para hacer y muchas, ni siquiera se promocionan, perdiéndose fácilmente del radar. Las principales atracciones en la lista, es la visita a los Pozos o Lagos Azules, la granja de avestruces y el rancho que cuenta con otros animales, los huesos de dinosaurios y hallazgos arqueológicos antiguos, la plaza principal donde se celebran importantes festivales, la casa de Terracota - la cual sería un gran lugar para vivir- y por supuesto, su variedad de museos fantásticos. Los comienzos de América y los primeros Estados en Villa de Leyva La historia refleja el espíritu americano. Se remonta a la época colonial; la lucha por la independencia de las Américas tuvo profundas raíces en Villa de Leyva. Las características tradicionales son evidentes en su cultura. La tranquilidad es altamente protegida y valorada, y el ambiente arquitectónico y su gastronomía se aprecian enormemente. Cada restaurante tiene su propia variedad de sabores espectaculares. Si tuviera que desayunar, almorzar y cenar en la ciudad, pagaría con creces por sus vacaciones de todas las formas posibles; disfrutando de todo lo que la zona ha adoptado con gusto. Las personas que viven allí o tienen casas en la zona, se esconden detrás de sus puertas gigantescas, pero es posible mirar a través de los jardines extraordinarios y la abundancia al interior de sus hogares. No es de extrañar qué la ciudad posea este tipo de tesoros. Siendo el lugar de nacimiento de las América, en algunos aspectos, debe haber riquezas indescriptibles llenas de historias inmensamente cautivadoras. Descubrir esta riqueza cultural, sería una labor perfecta para una revista, compartiendo con el resto de Colombia y el mundo sobre este mágico lugar. If you were to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner out in the town you would pay for your vacation in every way just by doing so, enjoying all that the area has adopted in taste. The people that live there or have houses there are hidden away behind their giant gates, but you can peek through to the extraordinary gardens and abundance that they hold within their homes. It’s any wonder what kind of treasures the city truly holds. Being the birth place of America in some regards, there must be untold riches filled with immensely captivating stories behind them. Uncovering this wealth of knowledge would be a perfect endeavor for a digital magazine to share with the rest of Colombia and the world. It is so spectacular in Villa de Leyva, especially for the counter revolution of conquest, that people really hold dear the blessings that have been given to them and it would be a revelation to have them share their experiences. Desde que era niño, el arte ha sido una de sus grandes pasiones, no fue casualidad que su destino haya estado rodeado de arte e incorporado, de manera oficial, en su futuro. Gracias a sus padres, se formó en las técnicas básicas, aprendiendo de los mejores, como Layo Rodríguez y Villareal, quienes en diferentes momentos y espacios transformaron los pensamientos y experiencias de Mateo. Durante algún tiempo, ha combinado sus habilidades artísticas con las ventas de sus piezas; una profunda relación que permite al artista entender diferentes aspectos, especialmente cuando se está negociando con personalidades contemporáneas de la escena artística colombiana. Text Rash, Bold, Linear Mateo When one looks at Mateo´s work he draws influence from Pollock, Kandinsky and Miró also said to be his favorite artists. There are three elements prevailing in his art, the line that is drawn fast, drawing continually the forms and elements that appear complete, and most of the color in the foreground. This can be seen in the fish and fresh vegetation of the forest and pastures. Many times, this is drawn with a dancing line in the background and other times the colors of the object intervene to complement the form and spaces around the line without losing any aesthetic appeal. Mateo has bordered with abstract in some pieces where the figure is simply used to differentiate from the play on light. The form is a concept of playful geometry in recognition of cubism with deformed conventions of space to show a vibrant imagination. Mateo´s work is hard to miss. He recreates and reconverts the viewers attention at the same time defeating the melancholy and sadness by complementing every negative gesture with sincerity changing your viewpoint into something happy. The force and mutual intellectual ingenuity of the elements show the characteristic of his spirit. The work can be considered post-modern. He paints with petrol for various reasons that also help the community. The acrylic and resins bring out his texture and brilliance. He paints it very thick to bring out more depth and it strengthens his lines. His signature is also painted in the think paint. Mateo likes to paint barracudas after his trip to San Andres and contacting with a marine biologist. His latest collection is full of fish and under the sea views. The colors seem to bring out the deep and rich colors found under the ocean. The size of his pieces is dramatic to capture the real-life size of the barracudas. #College Cuando se está frente al trabajo de Mateo, se vislumbra la influencia de Pollock, Kandinsky y Miró, quienes son sus artistas favoritos. El arte de Mateo es difícil de ignorar. Él recrea y reconvierte la atención de los espectadores al mismo tiempo que derrota la melancolía y la tristeza, al complementar cada gesto negativo con sinceridad, convirtiendo cualquier punto de vista en algo feliz. La fuerza y el mutuo ingenio intelectual de los elementos muestran las características de su espíritu. Su trabajo puede considerarse posmoderno. Pinta con gasolina por varias razones, las cuales, también ayudan a la comunidad. El acrílico y las resinas resaltan su textura y brillantez. En estos espacios el aprendizaje se enfoca hacia el cambio personal y social desde una visión positiva del ser humano. Esto último en la tertulia debe ser el punto de partida para hacer de esta metodología de aprendizaje un armonioso sistema para que todos participen en la llamada inteligencia cultural. Estamos haciendo inteligentes a niños, jóvenes y adultos desde la práctica y capacidad del lenguaje durante la interacción social. Entonces, se potencia el acercamiento directo del alumnado, sin distinción de edad, género, cultura o capacidad, a la cultura clásica universal y al conocimiento científico acumulado por la humanidad a lo largo del tiempo. En las tertulias los estudiantes de cualquier edad, personas interesadas (adultos) o compañeros de grupo se comprometen a leer un número de páginas o capítulos y a leer párrafos que posteriormente leerán en voz alta y se discutirán, y explicarán el porqué de su elección y generando así un debate alrededor de ello. Las tertulias para los niños pequeños y no tan pequeños, de parte de quien orienta esta dinámica, debe ser creativa, bastante comunicativa, de acción, en donde a ellos se les dé la oportunidad de expresarse aunque se equivoquen para fortalecer su dialogo y su medio cultural y los lazos sociales aprendiendo. Se debe tener en cuenta que las tertulias para niños deben ser enfocadas en temas y cosas que les gusten a ellos para que se observe poco a poco el aprendizaje o si se trata de temas un poco más rígidos y pesados, deberán ser tratados y llevados al léxico y al entendimiento de los niños para que sean agradables. Cada persona expresa al resto aquello que le ha suscitado interés, explicando por qué le ha llamado la atención, relacionándolo con vivencias personales, diálogos previos en tertulias anteriores, exponiendo su reflexión crítica al respecto, etc. A través del diálogo y las aportaciones de cada estudiante se genera un intercambio enriquecedor que permite profundizar en aquello sobre lo que versa la tertulia, promoviendo a su vez la construcción de nuevos conocimientos. En cada sesión una de las personas participantes asume el rol de moderador con la idea de favorecer una participación igualitaria entre todos. In the United States people are trained to listen to themselves. However, in Colombia, it is natural to listen to others. A direct order must come from someone else for the language to work. Orders only come in second and third person in Spanish. There are no words or conjugations to give yourself an order. However, in Spanish you can desire and wish to yourself. You can then make those desires and wishes conditional. But to make them conditional you must rely on someone else. It is impossible in Spanish to direct all your energy at yourself. It makes it very difficult to talk to yourself in Spanish. People in Colombia wonder a lot about how to have a conversation with themselves or even outwardly with their emotions that they have in their head. The language only allows for things to be transferred inwardly from the exterior into a deep reservoir of the unknown called self. Pero para formularlos de esa manera, es necesario depender de otra persona. En español, es imposible dirigir toda tu energía hacia sí mismo. Esto dificulta, realizar una charla netamente inflexiva. Las personas en Colombia, a menudo se preguntan cómo mantener una conversación consigo mismos e inclusive con las emociones que tienen en su cabeza. El lenguaje solo permite que las cosas sean transferidas hacia adentro desde el exterior hacia un profundo depósito de lo desconocido, llamado yo. Tratar de sacar esta energía, solo es posible a través de la conversación con otro ser humano. Entonces, el idioma español, tiende a crear personas muy sociales. Es un idioma que no propicia el aislamiento. En los Estados Unidos, las personas pueden experimentar un completo aislamiento al interior de su mente y en su entorno. Lo mismo ocurre en China, pero en un grado, inclusive, mayor. En China, se puede confiar plenamente en la conciencia de manera completamente independiente al del resto de la sociedad. Los chinos perciben la familia de manera muy personal, ya que no desean que las personas vivan solo con el apellido de familia, esto implica alejarse de la sociedad. Trabajando desde aquí, es posible evidenciar que, ellos son capaces de deliberar con anterioridad sobre lo que deben publicar o cómo atraer la atención hacia un servicio. Los estadounidenses, por otra parte, no usan la desconfianza como disfraz para activar el pensamiento. En la Unión Americana, se supone que es necesario contar con una persona de plena confianza al interior las corporaciones. Esto significa que la información que usted brinda a menudo es identificable y puede ser utilizada en su contra o filtrarse en otros lugares. Esto me lleva de vuelta a mi punto: en los Estados Unidos, la gente confía en sí misma. The States wants to know the difference between English and Chinese in terms of the subjunctive conjugation of giving oneself orders. In Colombia, people can listen to money or the spirit of those that are rich, they can listen to their God and Jesus, they can listen to their family and their school friends. These all can give borders and fundamentals to their outward alleviations. By accepting what is coming into their heads as something great and from a higher cause, a sense of wellbeing is created. In the States when something great comes into one’s head, it is often thought that great minds think alike and even with this, a fight must start, a mental battle over who has the right over the idea. Your head becomes a playground for multiple sponsors of the idea and you must claim your victory in a mental court and other delegations to receive the benefits of thinking. One can be left bewildered in their own minds if they are the only one in reality thinking a thought. People are trained to think that others are thinking along the same lines as you are. If you are not thinking like other people in the States, the authorities tell you that you are without God and that you have crossed the line of sanity and should be outcast for having unnatural thoughts and subjugated to medicines and doctors’ visits. But in Colombia people often don’t know how to take charge of their own lives. They leave these matters to the church and to the local government. They feel that if everyone is doing something or if they see someone doing something that is special than they can do it too. But if they think of something themselves it is hard for them to act on it individually, even if it will make themselves better. Free thinking is something that is being taught to youngsters here in Colombia now. Tools to enhance their ability to be more than just artisanal are being adopted and expected of the youth. People here know more about the strategies of the social networks than do Americans, but they are incapable of grasping them and putting themselves into the framework that they have thought of. The reason they are so good at knowing the social networks strategies is because they have an innate ability that they were born with to find the plot to steal and harm alarmingly the people that use the network. Working back from here, from a point of destruction, they are able to deliberate on what they should post or how to engage with a service. Americans on the other hand do not use distrust as their guise for thinking. In the States you are supposed to have a persona of full trustworthiness to the corporations. This means the information you give is often identifiable and can be used against you elsewhere. This leads me back to my point, which is; people trust themselves in the States. In Colombia for a long time, sin had to be instilled as a reason for people not to do something and give a sense of guidance. Spanish makes it easy to trust others, that is why there is so much danger especially online. You have the extremes of wanting to trust everyone and the inability to do so. In the States, you could trust everything that the system provides but the inability to talk about things in small talk that are not needed to show your level of trust. With people hurrying through Cajicá, trying to use sixth avenue as a short cut to bypass the variante, traffic moves fast and so do the people walking. People on bikes tend not to pay attention to any signals to cross as they are moving too fast on the sidewalk to view the notices. There are also many five street intersections in Cajicá that make crossing the street difficult. Knowing who has the right of way can be difficult and getting into an accident for most people simply means telling the other person they have no money and can’t pay for the damage. So, most people are out to hit whoever hits them hard enough for them to regret it. It can seem that drivers aim at you when they are coming in your direction making you a direct target or even swerve in your direction that even if there was an accident they would hit you. Therefore, commercial trucks generally don’t stop for anyone, they have a job to do. Busses can also drive however they want. Little busses often take this to extremes in that they are small, but they are still a bus and feel they have the right of way over pedestrians, bicycles, motorcycles, or other cars. Because they have a job to do too, they are often let go without bias. In general, there are traffic routes for all modes of transportation. There are sidewalks, biking paths and roads with parking spaces. It’s only where the three meets that most headaches are caused. The size of the person in the vehicle or on the street is also considered for right of way. This means pregnant women always have the right of way and mothers with children. Together they are bigger. These groups are also more mindful of the need to cross the street at the corners. If only people would learn that each car must come to a stop before entering traffic, then things would get better. A trickle of cars into an open lane is not within traffic laws. Stop signs would be useful in Colombia but they are not part of the culture. Here the culture is more about waiting than stopping. You can’t wait and then wait and wait again. However, in the States, even at 2:00am you must stop at a stop sign or the night police will give you a ticket. In Colombia it’s a trickle and flow to traffic and a stop sign seems unnatural here. So even if it is the pedestrian at the lowest end of traffic right of way, it is up to them to engage in stop and go. At every corner and intersection, they must stop and look both ways (even on a one way street) before crossing. When partaking in a meal during the middle of the day with whomever it may be, you must remember on thing: there is no such thing as a free lunch. Expectations are high in the middle of the day and some go to extremes to avoid this by eating a sandwich or schedule a diet. But the fact is, even a sandwich or diet plan has you locked into a state of being that you can’t entirely avoid. Even on an airplane you are sharing your meal with hundreds of people and are required to be polite and keep clean without causing a disturbance. Lunch is the most important meal of the day. Even when you eat alone, you must make sure of what you are consuming. You must think ahead about what you will be having in the evening and consider what you consumed for breakfast. Skipping lunch may make you feel like you don’t slow down or that only one meal a day is enough but eating a balanced diet cannot be administered in one meal a day or even five snacks. For someone of my stature and weight, I’m supposed to exercise off about 600 calories a day (not including sleep or rest) and eat the equivalent of 2,600 calories a day. Even in the States, having the opportunity to eat 1,000 calories for lunch gives me ample room to sit down to a good meal. I remember the most incredible lunch I ever had. Bureau Veritas was trying to offer me a job away from SIP the construction project management company I was working for at the time. I was asked to meet the International Business Development Director for China on the top floor of a skyscraper in downtown Beijing and he offered me a meal. Proceeding the meal and during the meal, things were perfect, and the fusion Asian/American food was incredible. Then he simply asked me my point of view about the health of the industry. I stumbled to get a response out knowing that he wanted an answer about health and at this time my own health was in great question and I could not respond supportively due to my own handicaps. The drawback in the Sabana Centro is that there are not many restaurants outside the mall that are identifiable through searching online. There are many restaurants, but it is hard to comparison shop for a place to eat prior to getting out on your feet and walking around. So finally, if you are in the presence of an opportunity around lunch to share a meal with someone, you must cease it and look for the nearest restaurant and partake in the pleasantries of one another. People tend to go home for lunch in the Sabana and it is not necessary with the actual costs of meals. Even with prices going up dramatically, the price of a meal far outweighs the missed opportunity. Seniors should also think about paying for the lunches that their associates have with colleagues from other companies when out conversing throughout the day. This doesn’t mean that you are going to pay for another company’s employee to have lunch. This means that your worker is taken care of and reimbursed for going out to lunch with associates from within his business network. Having active and opinionated, knowledgeable in etiquette employees who are well supported by the company brings a lot of attention to the company and attracts business. Families are businesses too. Más bien, se envía un poderoso mensaje: se cuida y reembolsa a su trabajador por salir a almorzar con los asociados de su red comercial. Tener un personal proactivo, que conoce la etiqueta y que cuenta con el respaldo de su empresa, atrae la atención de otras compañías y a la postre, concreta nuevos negocios. Las familias también son Empresas. Dado que la organización de la familia tiene muchos patriarcas, existe la necesidad de dividir la responsabilidad, cuidando de las necesidades de cada una de sus miembros. Los roles son aprendidos y se adoptan en el camino. Si es así, quizás no se está preparado para tomar las mejores decisiones o dar consejo a otros miembros. Aceptar la responsabilidad dentro del ámbito familiar, significa que estamos prestos a contribuir. Lo mismo ocurre dentro de las estructuras corporativas. Aquellos, quienes han decidido contribuir en mayor medida, tienen la posibilidad de aportar cuando y donde sea posible.
