(Martin Luther) "Our Lord has written the promise of resurrection, not in books alone, but in every leaf in springtime." (Timothy Keller) "Christ's resurrection not only gives you hope for the future; it gives you hope to handle your scars right now." (Matthew Henry) "Come, and see the victories of the cross. Christ's wounds are thy healings, His agonies thy repose, His conflicts thy conquests, His groans thy songs, His pains thine ease, His shame thy glory, His death thy life, His sufferings thy salvation."

Presider: P. Jim Jung Preacher: Sijin Yang CALL TO WORSHIP Psalm 97:6-9 “The heavens proclaim his righteousness, and all the peoples see his glory. All worshipers of images are put to shame, who make their boast in worthless idols; worship him, all you gods! Zion hears and is glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoice, because of your judgments, O Lord. For you, O Lord, are most high over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods.” SILENT CONFESSION Let us prepare our hearts by privately confessing our sins to our loving Heavenly Father. Be honest before God, and bear your heart and soul to Him. Thank Him and Praise Him for the good things; and confess those sins you knowingly and unknowingly commit, even the sin of omitting the good that you ought to have done. (Silent Private Prayer) ASSURANCE OF PARDON (In Christ, our sins are covered!) Ezekiel 36:25-27 “I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules.” PRAYER OF ADORATION AFFIRMATION OF FAITH Heidelberg Catechism – Lord’s Day #24 – OF GOD THE HOLY GHOST 62. But why cannot our good works be the whole or part of our righteousness before God? Because the righteousness which can stand before the judgment seat of God, must be perfect throughout and entirely conformable to the divine law,[1] but even our best works in this life are all imperfect and defiled with sin.[2] [1]Gal. 3:10; Deut. 27:26. [2]Isa. 64:6; *Jas. 2:10; *Phil. 3:12. 63. Do our good works merit nothing, even though it is God's will to reward them in this life and in that which is to come? The reward comes not of merit, but of grace. [1]Lk. 17:10; *Rom. 11:6. 64. But does not this doctrine make men careless and profane? No, for it is impossible that those who are implanted into Christ by true faith, should not bring forth fruits of thankfulness.[1] [1]Mt. 7:18; *Rom. 6:1-2; *Jn. 15:5. SONGS OF PRAISE (Kevin Chan) Good and Gracious King Living Hope OFFERING / DEDICATION To help you think about your level of giving, here is the financial snapshot of HCC for this month: Last Week’s Giving: $3,037 Total Giving for June: $5,183 Monthly Budget: $17,130 Sydney Space: $5,582.53 PRAYER FOR CHRIST'S CHURCH & THE WORLD (Jotham Moon) SCRIPTURE READING Ezekiel 37:1-14 (Jotham Moon) “The hand of the Lord was upon me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of the Lord and set me down in the middle of the valley; it was full of bones. 2And he led me around among them, and behold, there were very many on the surface of the valley, and behold, they were very dry. 3And he said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” And I answered, “O Lord God, you know.” 4Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and say to them, O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. 5Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. 6And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord.” 7So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound, and behold, a rattling, and the bones came together, bone to its bone. 8And I looked, and behold, there were sinews on them, and flesh had come upon them, and skin had covered them. But there was no breath in them. 9Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” 10So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived and stood on their feet, an exceedingly great army. 11Then he said to me, “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. Behold, they say, ‘Our bones are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.’ 12Therefore prophesy, and say to them, Thus says the Lord God: Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of Israel. 13And you shall know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people. 14And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the Lord”.” SERMON "A Glorious Hope" – 1 Corinthians 15:35-58 Old and New Natural and Spiritual Mystery and Glory ANNOUNCEMENTS RESPONSIVE SONG O Praise the Name BENEDICTION (Colossians 3:12-14) “12Put on then, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, 13bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. 14And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.”

The Bible gives us an enduring principle of tithing of our gross income as the baseline for the Christian’s worship through giving (2 Cor 9:7; Malachi 3:8-10). If every church member gave 10%, we would have enough financial resources for all the gospel ministry God is calling our church to do. Let the Spirit guide you in all final matters. How would you summarise the hope that we have in resurrection? What difference does the hope of the resurrection make in our labour in the Lord? What was the most helpful/challenging/encouraging part of the sermon for you? PRAYER FOCUS FOR OPPRESSED PEOPLES THROUGH IJM LATIN AMERICA Please pray for our teams in Latin America as they walk alongside survivors and our partners during the pandemic. Many countries in the region are struggling to contain major outbreak, and experts wonder if Latin America could become the new epicenter for the pandemic. Also, as lockdowns last, the increase of violence against women and children in the region continues to be alarming. Pre-pandemic Latin America had the highest rates of violence against women and children in the world, with 81% of the cases reported globally coming from that region; lockdowns put many more at risk. Pray that victims of violence will be able to break the silence and ask for help in this time, and pray for police officers around the region to be able to respond quickly to protect and restore them. SOUTH-EAST ASIA Last week we released a global study on online sexual exploitation of children in the Philippines.Pray that governments and tech businesses would take the recommendations for protecting children from this violent crime, and that the children who need rescue now would be protected by a system that works.
