Donald Trump Faces Abuse of Power and Obstruction of Congress Charges
Ms. Buskell is also one of two new eighth grade social studies teachers at Cornerstone Academy. She is originally from Longview, Texas which she says “is a very small town compared to Houston in East Texas”. She lives in Houston with her two dogs, one is a teacup Yorkie named Smalls and her other dog is a miniature Dachshund named Bitty.
She picked Cornerstone because she says “I knew from the moment I stepped into the building that there was something different about this place. The community that is a part of CSA drew me in and I loved everything about it. It was a standout among the crowd.” She also says for college “ I went to Texas A&M University. ...Whoop!”

Spyro, a 3D platformer collectathon developed by Insomniac Games was remastered lovingly from the ground up by Toys for Bob on November 13, 2018. A collectathon is a genre of video games popular in the 1990’s that specializes in gathering different sets of collectables in order to advance the game and or boost completion percent.
The game as a whole
Spyro Reignited Trilogy, primarily is a graphic update. Everything else has stayed the same, from enemy placement to level design. But, that doesn’t stop Toys for Bob from going above and beyond to make the definitive way to experience Spyro. The most obvious thing is the cosmetic update. It is gorgeous with a colorful, cartoonish look that fits in with and builds on the original’s pre-existing beauty. It doesn't just stop at that either. The game extends to the music even. The originals had the skill of composer Stewart Copeland who returns with some new music and remixes of originals. Since there are now two tracks for every level, players have been given the option to swap between new and old. The gameplay is the exact same. But, Toys for Bob were able to perfectly recreate the physics of the originals being floaty yet precise.
Spyro the Dragon
Gnasty Gnorc has released a spell freezing all of the dragons into crystal after being insulted and mocked by Lindar (one of the dragons). Luckily Spyro and his dragonfly friend Sparx were able to avoid the spell because they were smaller than the other dragons. Now he needs to travel through the five dragon realms, free all of the 80 dragons captured, find the 12 dragon eggs stolen, and recover all of the 14,000 treasure. Of all these things to collect, the dragons are the priority. These will be found in levels that are featured in the different (previously mentioned) dragon realms. Those being the Artisans, Peace Keepers, Magic Crafters, Beast Makers, and the Dream Weavers. The gameplay involves going into a level, exploring the area, finding and retrieving the collectables, and finding and getting to the exit. This allows for a open world approach to level design.
Spyro 2: Ripto’s Rage!
Due to an extended period of rainfall, Spyro and Sparx decide that they need a vacation. Then they notice a portal to Dragon Shores and travel through it. To their surprise, they land in a realm known as Avalar because the Professor, Elora the Faun, Zoe the Fairy, and Hunter the Cheetah, had redirected the portal to bring them there instead. After a confusing moment, they encountered a dictator named Ripto, who was enraged that the residents had brought a dragon to Avalar. In order to defeat Ripto, Spyro needs to collect the 14 Talismans and 64 Orbs. The gameplay revolves around going into a level, receiving a task from the local people, completing the task and receiving a talisman, exploring, find a secondary task, complete the task, keep finding and completing secondary tasks to keep receiving Orbs and then leave the level. This new level design accounts for a more linear style of play.
Spyro: Year of the Dragon
The Dragon Realms were celebrating an important event: the Year of the Dragon Festival. Every twelve years during this time, the Fairies deliver dragon eggs to the Dragon Realms, which will become the next generation of Dragons. In this year, the Fairies delivered 150 eggs to the Dragon Realms. The Dragons celebrated until they fell over from exhaustion and slept. While they were asleep, a mysterious rabbit girl named Bianca came with an army of Rhynocs to steal the dragon eggs. Now it’s Spyros’ job to collect all 150 eggs. The game is similar to Ripto’s Rage and Spyro 1 with eggs rewarded via exploration and task completion, but it also has the inclusion of different playable characters adding new levels and way of traversal.
Overall, Spyro Reignited Trilogy is the best way to play an outstanding series of games. Even though the game is relatively the same, it still can be enjoyed by both newcomers and veterans alike. With it’s already tight and fun gameplay and now with a modern style, Spyro Reignited Trilogy deserves a 8/10
Mrs. Lovell is one of the two new eighth grade social studies teachers at Cornerstone Academy. She is originally from Lake Jackson, which is about an hour south of Houston, but she currently lives with her family and her two dogs, December and Weeble in Katy, Texas.
She says she decided to become a teacher because “I’ve always liked history. It’s something that’s always come easy to me, and I liked the idea of stories and how everything builds upon itself and teaching kinda came along with it.” For college, she went to Sam Houston University, which is located in Huntsville where she got a degree in Education.
Mr. Nguyen, the newest male social studies teacher at Cornerstone Academy was born in Santa Ana, California, and at the age of eleven, he moved to Houston,Texas. Since then he has been living in Houston so much so, that he said “I have pretty much...adopted like the culture, and the way of living..., so now I can call myself a Houstonian....”
During high school, after seeing a teacher him inspire him and so many others when he was retiring, he said “seeing him, seeing that many people, just kind of see him off, just made me realize that if you want to make a difference, you know teaching is one of those professions where you really can.” To make teaching his profession, he went to college at the University of Houston for four years and got his teaching degree in education.

Migrant families from Central America are being stranded in the U.S. border stations for several months facing unfair conditions and consequences, resulting in a huge lack of space within the containment cells. Children and infants are being put in cages along with their parents with many other families which seems unruly and improper, but unfortunately that’s what many immigrants are going through right now.
Children are crying to their parents, some are resting on concrete floors, and lights are on 24 hours a day. They are really tired, and their feet are aching, but they end up having to stand up anyways because of the lack of space. Migrant’s daily lives living in these conditions are extremely difficult considering the fact that they also have to take care of their children. Many immigrants don’t have any access to soap, toothpaste, showers, and sinks, which results in highly unsanitary circumstances. Many contagious diseases such as scabies, lice, flu, and chickenpox are generated within the cells, making it a high possibility to spread to others.
A mother named Yazmin Juarez, an asylum seeker, noticed her 19 month old daughter was developing severe health issues, such as diarrhea, fever, coughing, and vomiting. When she pleaded to the medical staff about her daughter, they treated her with a medical substance called Vaporub, which is not made for children under the age of two years old.The medical staff had failed to correctly treat her child which resulted in a hospitalization for six weeks. The doctors had diagnosed her with a critical viral respiratory infection and immediately put her onto a ventilator. Unfortunately, because professional medical help came late, Juarez’ child passed away.
In addition, there are many immigrant victims who are living their daily lives in fear of being deported back to their original country. An immigrant, Ali Mohammed says, “We are people who want to work, to build a life. If we came to America, it means people are escaping war.” Mohammed wants Trump to understand that immigrants aren't coming for no reason, they’re coming because they don’t really have another choice.
Immigrants face day-to-day challenges throughout their lives and are struggling to overcome them. Families are being locked up in cells for extended periods of time and immigrants are hiding in fear of being deported. All of this is being caused by new policies and systems at the border. In the future 2020 Election, people need to make sure to vote for someone who can manage and support this border crisis and help find a solution.
Impeachment: Rising Stakes
On November 15th, Marie Yovanovitch became the first witness of the public impeachment hearings of Donald Trump. Democrats began to compile the evidence needed to impeach Trump over an alleged quid pro quo, or an abuse of Presidential power. Trump’s impeachment inquiry had been slowing to a halt when the hearings started, but the Democrats were determined to expedite the impeachment process. The Democrats’ efforts most likely did not convince any Republicans to cross party lines in the Senate trial scheduled for early 2020.
This impeachment inquiry began after it was publicly announced that Trump had allegedly done a quid pro quo and had exploited his presidential power to use a foreign country to interfere in US affairs. Trump had allegedly withheld $400 million of aid money from Ukraine until Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky started an investigation into Joe Biden, Trump’s political rival, and his son, Hunter. Trump and Zelensky’s phone call was made on July 25th, and an anonymous whistleblower released a formal complaint about it on September 19th.
On September 24, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi announced that an impeachment inquiry would start with the first public hearing scheduled for November 15th to compile evidence to make Trump the 4th President in history to be impeached. Many people testified for the public hearings from EU Ambassador Gordon Sondland, U.S. Ambassador to the European Union, to Fiona Hill, former National Security Council senior director for Europe and Russia. The process is still in its inquiry stage, which is far from any formal impeachment or removal from office, and the hearings will likely have no effect on the perspectives of the citizens of the US. According to an NPR poll, 65% of US citizens say that the hearings will not sway their stance on impeachment. (Since this article was written, the President has been formally impeached by the committee).
Donald Trump openly opposes his impeachment and his fellow Republicans have used multiple different tactics to obscure the full view of impeachment to Americans. First, Trump used a subtle attack by questioning the whistleblower’s legitimacy and accuracy. Trump has made it very clear that he wants the whistleblower’s identity revealed, but the whistleblower is protected under the Whistleblower Protection Act, put into law by George H.W. Bush. Trump claims that only “legitimate” whistleblowers are protected by the act, and he thinks that this whistleblower is not legitimate. Trump has demanded that this whistleblower’s identity be revealed, but according to an NPR poll, 56% of citizens want his identity protected, 5% unsure, and 39% want his identity revealed. During the public impeachment hearings, Republicans are attempting to spread doubt again by claiming that Democrats are rushing the process of impeachment to avoid reprisal from voters.
The Democratic majority of the House Intelligence Committee, led by Chairman Adam B. Schiff, was expected to release a report on Trump’s impeachment on December 3rd. The report is expected to give more details and a more concise explanation of the impeachment proceedings. The details from the report were staggering. “No other President has flouted the Constitution and the power of Congress to conduct oversight to this extent,” the report read. “No President has claimed for himself the right to deny the House's authority to conduct an impeachment proceeding, control the scope of a power exclusively vested in the House, and forbid any and all cooperation from the Executive Branch.” The report accused Trump of committing one of the most alarming Presidential crimes in US history.
Strikingly, even after the report was published, Trump’s approval rating has stood steady. The citizens of the US, through a FiveThirtyEight poll, say that about 55% of citizens disapprove of Trump and about 43% approve. Still, these numbers likely will not change Republicans’ views of impeachment, and it is unlikely that Trump can be convicted in the Republican controlled Senate.

Hong Kong Protests
In November, there was a standoff between police and students taking place on the grounds of Hong Kong's Polytechnic University. But why did this happen? Back in March, Hong Kong passed the Extradition Bill, which allows criminals to be moved to mainland China as well as being treated unfairly. The leader of Hong Kong, Carrie Lam, said that the bill would be suspended forever, but the protesters thought the bill could be brought back at any time. The protests will continue until the bill is completely removed.
Another reason people are protesting is that they want to get a democratic reform. During the protests, half of the lawmakers of the Legislative Council were elected as a geographical constituency (elected by all qualified voters) and the other half are Functional Constituency (only specific people can vote for them). This goes against the people of Hong Kong's wishes for universal suffrage. This leads people to believe that Beijing is trying to remove freedom from Hong Kong.
From a thousand to half a million people marching, the people are showing the government that they are not happy with the state of Hong Kong. There have been 2 deaths, at least 2,600 people injuries, and 4,491 people arrested. It's safe to assume that the protests won't be ending anytime soon.

Boots are the perfect way to warm your feet. Try soft, fuzzy, or sparkly.
When it’s really cold outside and you need to cover up, rock your style with some sweet scarves. They can be woolen, cashmere, plain or colorful.
When your hands are freezing and you want to keep them warm, rock it with some gloves. You can do fingerless, ones with many patterns, or ones that are very colorful.

History of the Houston Rockets
The Rockets started in San Diego as the San Diego Rockets but moved in 1971 to Houston to become the Houston Rockets. They moved to Houston due to the NASA headquarters being in Houston.
The San Diego Rockets first game was a close one, but they lost to the St. Louis Hawks 98-99. They won their first franchise game against the Seattle SuperSonics 121-114 on the road in Seattle.
Their first season in San Diego was not a good one as they were at the bottom of the Western Conference at 15-67. The Rockets first manager was Bob Breitbard, but he didn’t want the team anymore because of low performance and low attendance at games. He sold it to Texas Sports Investments for 5.6 million dollars who moved the team to Houston.
The Houston Rockets have made it to the NBA finals 4 times: 1981,1986, 1994 and 1995, but in both in 1981 and 1986 they lost to the Celtics. The Rockets have won two NBA championships in both 1994 and 1995 led by head coach Rudy Tomjanovich and Rockets all-time best player Hakeem Olajuwon. The argued best player ever on the Rockets was Hakeem Olajuwon who averaged 21.8 points per game and 11.1 rebounds per game during his career.
The Houston Rockets mascot was introduced after the Rockets won back to back championships in 1994 and 1995 and they named him Clutch the Bear. The Rockets mascot has won NBA mascot of the year in 2005 and 2013 and was inducted into the Mascot Hall of Fame in 2006.
The Rockets’ had a really good in the regular season last year being tied with the Portland Trail Blazers at 53-29. The Rockets beat the Utah Jazz in 5 games in the playoffs but sadly, lost to the Golden State Warriors in 6 games. The leader in points per game was James Harden with 30.4, but this season he is still the leader with a better 36.1 PPG.
This season, the Rockets are in the lead in most stats except for assists per game. The Rockets are doing remarkably well under superstar players James Harden and Russel Westbrook.
Video Game Review
Season 4 of the Netflix hit Stranger Things is coming out in late 2020 or early 2021. Actors that are definitely coming back to the show for Season 4 are Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Noah Schnapp, Caleb Mclaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Winona Ryder, Natalia Dyer, and Charlie Heaton.
The show is about a girl named Eleven who has telekinesis. She was lost and found a group of friends to help her find her way.
In Season 1, Will was taken and Eleven teamed up with the boys to kill the Demogorgon and in Season 2, fans were introduced to Max and a baby demogorgon. Lastly in Season 3, the gang had to fight the Mind Flyer.
At the very end Jim Hopper died or at least that is what the writers want fans to think. A lot of people think that he is alive. Perhaps in the very end when the machine blew up it closed off the upside down. He could have barely jumped inside and survived. Also there was a scene at the very end in Russia which could lead fans to believe that he survived. There are many theories about what could happen in Stranger Things Season 4, but fans of the show will have to wait a few months longer to find out.

Gettysburg, directed by Ronald F Maxwell and co-directed by Ted Turner, was released in 1993; I must say it's is one of the best war movies I've ever seen. It's historically accurate, action-packed, and it was shot where the real battle took place. The stars include Martin Sheen as Robert E Lee, Sam Elliot as John Buford, Tom Berengner as James Longstreet, Jeff Daniels as Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain, and C. Thomas Howell as Thomas Chamberlain (Chamberlain's brother).
The plot is historically accurate (though like Waterloo it's kinda boring between the brief rests in between the battle), but most of the best bits
are in the battle. At four hours and thirty-one minutes, its sheer length makes it the longest American movie ever made which includes a lot of details and characters. The best of the obscure characters is Arthur Lyon Freemantle who was a British officer there to “observe” the Confederate Army. Freemantle was more like a tourist, but no one questioned him because they thought he was an observer. The movie’s best bit is the combat at Little Round Top.
On the second day of the battle, the movie shows just how brutal the war was and some of the most important combat that took place at Gettysburg. General Hancook says, “If you don't hold the line, the entire army will be routed.” Little Round Top is my favorite part
of battle because it was a situation where history was decided by one man, Joshua Chamberlain, the commanding colonel in charge of the 20th Maine regiment at the furthest line at Little Round Top. If he did not hold the line that day the Confederates might have won the battle and the war. I'd say Gettysburg is a hit. It manages to be historically accurate like Waterloo. There are no notable inaccuracies and it's a spiction of a fascinating time in history.
If you like American Civil War history, then I recommend you watch Gettysburg.

On December 20, 2019, Lucasfilm is releasing the ninth movie, The Rise of Skywalker, to end the Star Wars Saga. The movie will include two new planets, Pasaana and Kijimi, and will follow the Resistance racing against the First Order to defeat the other side.
The movie will present a new droid called D-O and a new alien to spot. There are also some new characters, Jannah and Zorri Bliss. Zorri Bliss is a rogue and Jannah is believed to be Lando’s daughter. This movie also brings fans back to the fifth and sixth movie with the destruction of the Death Star II and Lando Calrissian.
In this movie, you will see the Resistance come upon the First Order for the last time. You will see Rey and Kylo Ren battle each other one last time. This will all happen in the longest Star Wars movie ever at a running time of 2 hours and 35 minutes long, 3 minutes longer than the eighth movie.
The company also faced some issues with Princess Leia since the actor passed away in 2016. Luckily, they had some unshown clips of Princess Leia in the seventh movie. They also had to find a new actor for Chewbaca since that actor died as well.
Many people have different opinions and feelings about the movie. Alejandro Abrocosa, a seventh grader at Cornerstone, says that he believes there will be more movies and that he feels like Chewbaca might die. Kenley Kieschnick, a sixth grader at Cornerstone says, “When I think of rising, basically I think it means back to life.” This makes her think that Luke will rise from the dead.
The movie has been said to end the Star Wars Saga, which means that this could be the last movie for all of Star Wars.
This past November the newest Pokemon game Sword and Shield was released. There are new forms and moves that have never been seen before. There are new characters and rivalries throughout the story and new legendary Pokemon to catch and evolve. There is also the original type of caching and battling which is well-liked by most, but not everyone is happy about removing the national dex and some pokemon. The graphics are good and so is the sound quality with most other games on the Nintendo Switches and the new function of dynamaxing and gigantamaxing for max raid battles is also really fun. There is the curry dex that can record all the curries that players have made throughout their adventure. Players can take jobs to make money and buy all sorts of clothes to battle and wear to show off to everyone. yPlayers can make a trainer card to show off skills to all the other trainers in the Galar region.
If you’re wondering about who would play this, there really is no set age group but most people playing are 12 to 40. There are other games in this franchise like Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee which put a mechanic of caching like Pokemon Go. Most other Pokemon game series have three each, so most fans are expecting that there will be another game to tie in with the Sword and Shield universe.

The Popeyes Chicken Sandwich craze has caused mayhem throughout many cities. Popeyes wanted to improve its business by adding their new chicken sandwich to the menu. What was supposed to be great for Popeyes and for customers turned downward when customers wanted this chicken sandwich too much, and Popeyes had to stop selling this product just two weeks later. When the customers had figured out that the chicken sandwich couldn’t keep up with supply and demand, this enraged customers so much that they were willing to fight and kill over this chicken sandwich.
Ra’Shaiel Hughes aged 29 was a Popeyes employee, and Debra Staggs aged 55 was a customer. Debra Staggs was trying to get a refund after being double charged for the Popeyes chicken sandwich when Staggs and Hughes got into an argument at the cashier counter. Hughes eventually slammed Staggs to the ground because of this argument. One employee accused Staggs of using the N-word and asked her to leave the building. Staggs tried to leave the building, but she was attacked by some of the Popeyes employees including Ra’Shaiel Hughes. Debra Staggs suffered six cracked ribs, nine fractures, and a broken knee.
“I don't feel happy about it because it's not worth it to kill over a chicken sandwich when you can just wait in line. The chicken sandwich was not bad, but I mean Chick-fil-a is better than Popeyes chicken sandwich, ”said Jeb Burkhart a student at Cornerstone Academy.
A man in Maryland was cutting a line to get the popular chicken sandwich. When Kevin Tyrell Davis, 28 had spent about 15 minutes in a line just for the sandwich, Davis and this other customer got in a huge argument. That argument got so intense that a fight broke out. Eventually, Davis was stabbed in the upper body and died in a hospital one hour later.

Everyone knows about diseases, their effects and how they have killed millions of people over the years. People have also assumed the diseases of old had all been eradicated. Tuberculosis is an over 4,000-year-old disease. Even for its age, it’s still, however, a problem today.
The obstacles with tuberculosis or TB, are mostly taking place in developing countries. Tuberculosis has been spreading through the air in developing countries. These countries have been able to find cures, like DOTS (Directly-Observed Therapy Short Course), but the cures can’t reach out to all people in all areas. So, many can't survive this disease or keep the disease in its inactive stage. The statistics show that TB has been estimated to have infected 25% of the world’s population and more will continue to be infected.
These problems with tuberculosis are not new. The difference is that the drugs that people have been using to cure tuberculosis are becoming useless. This is the main problem for those infected today.
”I think we need to bring vaccines to these countries, so we need to work on developing vaccines that are cheaper and more accessible that we can get to parts of the world fighting this disease,” CSA science teacher Ms. Gibney said.
The good thing is, here and in other developed countries, doctors have vaccines and medication to cure the disease. Luckily, only a couple of cases of tuberculosis have been reported in these countries. Tuberculosis has been here for way too long and it needs to be cured. To counteract this problem, people can send money to campaigns like Givewell.org, or StopTB.org, even as little as $5 or less can help.

The University of Houston has released a fleet of 30 autonomous food delivery robots. Starship launched the food delivery robots and the deliveries are available to the students, faculty and staff. Starship released the robots to test new options for food delivery, which were spread all over campus on November 11, 2019. The delivery has a fee of $1.99 and the robots can cover a 3 mile radius. The robots can only currently deliver food from Drexler’s, Starbucks, Einstein Brothers Bagels, Panda Express and Cougar Village Market. No need to worry about the food weighing down the robot because it can carry up to 20 pounds of food. People can order food on the app and once the robot is loaded it is sent to their location. When it arrives they can unlock it with the app and track the delivery.
Tess Vergult, former CSA student who now attends U of H, says, “it’s really weird……. I don’t even know how to use them. They are really cute and it’s funny to watch them try to get around all the students walking around.”
Customers can pay for the food with credit, debit, or Cougar Cash. The robots have increased service hours and have created more jobs. If the weather is bad the robots can still operate in the night, rain and snow. If anything happens to the robot Starship’s team can take control of the robot at any time. Although there are only 30 robots and 53,000 students, staff and faculty on campus, the robots have been able to travel over 350,000 miles and complete more than 150,000 deliveries. The robots are not paid by the school, but their profits cover the cost overall. The robots are smart enough to wait at stoplights and go only when it’s supposed to. The future at UH with the delivery robots looks like there will be more robots coming with their growing use.

What's your name?
Good question, I was not given one at birth, so I pick daily, so today let us go with Jeff.
People say don't eat red meat but should you eat green meat?
According to Sam I Am from the Dr. Seuss book Green Eggs and Ham, might as well try it, never know.
What if your too busy to get high school credits, but you need them?
You seem very ambitious, that will serve you well as you get older. As for the high school credits, you have two options. First is to look at everything you do and see if you can drop stuff so you can take the classes, or enjoy being in middle school, and as much as you want. To be ahead before you get to high school, it sounds like it may not happen, and that is ok.
What if my friends are mean, but I still want to be friends with them?
My first question is why? I am not sure what mean they are doing, but what makes you think you are off limits to them being mean to or about you? I would be careful.
What if my crush doesn't like me back?
If you really like this person continue trying, be their friend, and if they do not like you after a time period you think, then maybe it is time to let it go and just be friends, move on.
If there's no space in earth but there's space in space and mass is how much space you take up then does that mean you only take up space in space?
Well… I don't know but I do know that if everything has gravity then does that mean you’re a planet in space?
