AMS Band News
The week of January 6th, AMS celebrated Winter BE Week! Each day we learned more about how to BE the Best Bulldogs we can BE by exhibiting our AMS Core Values: Be Present, Be Prepared, Be Positive, Be Thorough, and Be Kind. Each Advisory participated in community building activities and challenges. BE Week ended with a drawing from our BE the Best Bulldogs slips given to students who exhibited any of the 5 core values. The following students won gift cards: 7th Grade: Ashton Harris, Lucy Ingram, Brooklyn McClain, Vanessa McGee and Tyler Tabler. Eighth Grade: Espen Campell, Blake Cottrell, Kendra Hammonds, Stacie Hart and Anastasia McLaughlin
The Culture Team would like to thank Subway and Little Caesar's for supporting our Core Values Initiative. Remember: BE the Best Bulldog You can BE!
A special thanks to Dr. Elizabeth Welsh and Wendy's of Athens for their donations to our program.
The students are off to a great start on their new music and are quickly developing their skill on their instruments. The next band concert is Thursday, March 5 at 7:00 pm in the AMS Auditorium. At this time, we are getting students that are interested in participating in Solo and Ensemble contest started on music. These students will perform their solo or ensemble for a judge on Saturday, April 18 at Gallia Academy High School. This is not required, but is a great way for the students to get more development on their instrument! More details about their exact performance time that day will be sent home closer to the event. The cost is $16 for solos and $20 for ensembles (split by the number of members in the group). Please make checks payable to Athens Band Boosters. Lastly, please mark your calendars for the spring All Band Concert which will take place Sunday, May 3 in the Athens High School Auditorium. All 7th and 8th grade band members will perform at this exciting concert! Thanks for your continued support of the Athens Middle School Band Program!
