El Gabilan Library Reopens to the Community
The 20,000-square-foot El Gabilan Library reopened with a celebration on Saturday, February 22, with tours and various performances and activities. Did you know that allU.S. Credit Union, in partnership with the City of Salinas, made an upfront financial contribution that helped get this library built? We are very proud of that fact, and kudos to our city leaders and the community for providing this library for those who seek knowledge and technology as part of their lifelong learning.
When you join allU.S., you’re not just becoming a member; you become part of the allU.S. family.
Even though Annette has been a member of allU.S. for just under one year, she knows that allU.S. Credit Union is a very special place. “allU.S. really wants to help their members and will go out of their way to make sure you get the best service. It’s so nice to enter your bank and feel welcomed.”
“Pet owners enjoy their pets, and allU.S. embraces its members’ pets. I have a fur baby named NuuNuu, and they welcome her into the bank with open arms. She is their mascot. I love my pet-friendly credit union.”
“allU.S. is amazing, and I can’t say enough about how great they are!”

Make Sure You and Your Loved Ones Are Not Victims of Elderly Fraud
Did you know that 1 in 5 seniors are victims of fraud? This number is probably underestimated, because many of these cases go unreported. As our senior population continues to grow, so do the cases of fraud. It is estimated that these cases result in losses of over $36 billion annually.
Why are seniors targeted? Unfortunately, those committing fraud prey on those whom they envision as “easy” targets and who have significant wealth. Below are some characteristics of senior citizens that make them a target.
Have more money than younger individuals
Generally more trusting than others
More willing to provide confidential information out of fear
More prone to falling victim to fraudsters who prey on their civic responsibility
There are many types of fraud that target the elderly. Some are highlighted below.
IRS and romance scams
Grandparent scam (attempts to persuade the victim that the scammer is
the grandchild or that their grandchild is in trouble and money must be
sent right away)
We encourage everyone to become familiar with the scams and, most importantly, verify the sender and their information before you give personal information or money. Also, be aware and make sure you or someone you know isn’t a victim of elderly fraud.

Person-to-Person (P2P) Transfers
We are continuously finding ways to enhance your allU.S. online banking experience. Our latest feature is Person-to-Person (P2P) Transfers, which allow allU.S. members to send money from their accounts to anyone, including non-members, with a bank account, email address and/or mobile phone number.
P2P Transfers are FREE. These services are ideal for paying the babysitter, giving a gift to your grandchildren or reimbursing someone for dinner. Money you send through P2P on the allU.S. mobile app will arrive in moments to the person via email or phone number. You won’t see the other person’s account info, and they won’t see yours, so your funds are protected.
These services make sending funds just as easy as paying with cash.
As you all know, we have entered a new tax season. Taxes are due Wednesday, April 15, and while that may sound far away, there are many advantages to filing your taxes as soon as possible.
The sooner you file your taxes, the sooner you get your refund. The combination of electronic filing and direct deposit has been proven the quickest way to get your refund. The IRS estimates that more than 90% of refunds will be issued within 21 days of receipt.
The second reason you want to file early is because it can prevent identity theft. Criminals have become proficient at filing phony tax returns using the Social Security number of other consumers. The IRS only receives one return per Social Security number, which is why many people first find out their information has been stolen when they unsuccessfully try to file their return. If you file early, you can reduce the possibility of having a fake return filed in your name.
Before filing, make sure you have your W-2s, 1099s, bank and mortgage statements, etc. Once you have your documentation, file quickly to make sure you don’t fall prey to identity theft.
