Danco on ice
Thanks to the efficiency of the Danco team, the build was fully complete by end of day two with no major setbacks. The LKA was a spectacle for all to see, and a massive success. Thank you to all those who made this project possible.
Creating winter wonderlands
The Danco team got to work two days before the event started to fully transform the massive venue to hold thousands of furry friends. Over 9800 dog benches were erected to different size specifications for the variety of breeds, along with 2300 chairs lined against the 7860sqm of carpet for the pedigree dogs to parade on.
It's been a busy couple of months here at Danco HQ as we prepare to bring Christmas joy across the nation in the form of a family favourite winter activity, ice-skating. Working with our sister company Icescape, we have installed a variety of marquees and temporary structures to over fifteen winter-wonderland centres and Icescape ice-rinks across the country.
Check out www.Icescape.co.uk to find the nearest ice rink to you, and join in the festivities.

Ladies Kennel Association
The Ladies Kennel Association (LKA) was back for its annual appearance at the NEC in Birmingham earlier this month. The largest two-day dog show hosted over 10,000 dogs spanning across more than 200 breeds, with the owners travelling from the British Isles and beyond to compete in a bid to qualify for the world’s biggest dog show: Crufts.
Lambeth Country show
"In a moment of madness back in January 2019 I decided to sign up to the Wye Valley Mighty Hike – a 26 mile walk on behalf of Macmillan Cancer Support through the Wye Valley between Chepstow and Monmouth.
I lost my Dad to cancer back in 2006 and had several friends since whose lives had been affected by cancer and the time just seemed right to do something which was a personal challenge and in memory of my Dad. Fitting in training around work and family commitments was also a bit of a challenge but I did as much as I could, and on the morning of September 7th, I felt nervous but confident.
Crossing the finishing line 9hrs & 44 minutes after I started with my 10-year-old son joining me for the last couple of hundred metres felt great, and the celebratory glass of prosecco barely touched the sides! A bonus was being told I had finished in the top 500 of the 2000 starters which I was pretty pleased with, not being the most dedicated fitness fan!
Family, friends, my work colleagues at Danco and some of my clients had been incredibly supportive with sponsorship and I raised £482 plus £84 in Gift Aid, smashing my original target of £250." - Bev.
We were first approached by Loud Sound, the event company helping to organise the country show alongside Lambeth Council and EventLambeth in early March 2019. By May we were delighted to be confirmed an official marquee supplier for the event, and the planning started.
With the event covering a vast majority of the park, Danco was tasked with providing over 70 marquees to meet the events requirements. The build fell on one of the hottest weeks of the year with temperatures in London climbing into the thirties! However, that didn’t stop our crews getting the work done, with a few much-needed ice-cream breaks.

The annual event takes place at Brockwell Park across a weekend in mid-July, it is known as one of the biggest free family festivals in the UK for the community. Although being named a country show, the event celebrates both the traditional elements of a country fair along with the very best of the city. From flower competitions, farm animals, craft and food stalls, to a range of live music that creates a truly amazing atmosphere – there really is something for everyone.
It's that time of the year where we wind down and have time to reflect on what a great year it's been. Here are some of the best highlights of 2019.
MLB YANKEES VS RED SOX
In June 2019 the London Stadium welcomed one of the greatest rivalries in sport as the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox went head to head over two days.
The two-game series ran over the weekend of June 29th & 30th and this was the first regular season MLB games that have ever been played in Europe. The London Stadium was transformed into a baseball ground as two of the sport's biggest clubs prepared for a historic series in the capital.
Danco provided temporary structures at the main entrance on Endeavour Square, around the Stadium apron and at the fan-zone which was located at the Truman Brewery in Brick Lane. The structures were fitted out and provided the retail outlets our client needed to service the fans with Baseball Fashion and accessories.
Working in large cities is always challenging but Danco’s Operations and Transport team worked tirelessly to ensure that very strict access times were adhered to. Our management team, site crews and sub-contractors also took on board the very important and specific nature of the site health and safety policies.
Our fleet of vehicles and forklifts allowed us to weave around the city and handle the challenging vehicle access windows, ensuring our success. We were delighted to take on the challenge, and proud to help create an unforgettable experience for all the spectators.
