THE OMNI GROVE PARK INN
ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA
JUNE 28 -JULY 1, 2020
THE 31ST ANNUAL
Larry Arnaudet, ESCA Executive Director
Are you ready to experience the true tradition of southern hospitality amidst the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains, enjoy a few rounds of championship golf on a Donald Ross-designed course, exhilarating white water rafting or fly fishing on the French Broad River or see the historic Biltmore Mansion? If so, have we got a week planned for you! The 2020 ESCA Summer Educational Conference has all this, and more.
Situated in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Asheville, North Carolina, is known for a vibrant arts scene and its' historic architecture, including the dome-topped Basilica of Saint Lawrence. The Downtown Art District is filled with galleries and museums, and in the nearby River Arts District, former factory buildings house artists' studios. Conveniently located near our resort headquarters of the Omni Grove Park Inn is the vast 19th-century Biltmore Estate displays artwork by masters like Renoir.
Our educational content is being finalized as we speak with timely industry-related issues. You can also look forward to hearing from Sarah Thomas, the first female NFL official to referee an NFL playoff game, as well as the fast-paced futurist and trailblazer Byron Reese.
Our host hotel, the Omni Grove Park Inn, is a destination itself. Serving guests for over a century, The Omni Grove Park Inn was built in 1913. This stately golf resort has views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. You can relax in the unique subterranean spa or enjoy the sports complex with six tennis courts, an indoor pool, and a fitness center. There are also five restaurants, 3 bars, and a cafe. We know you'll enjoy the classic comfort and modern convenience of this historic resort.
We have put together a stellar experience for you and your family, and I look forward to seeing you this June!

Sarah Thomas changed the game in the world’s most quintessential male-dominated sport—football—when she became the first female NFL official. Now she’s inspiring others to dream big and believe anything is possible.
Officiating her first game September 13, 2015 between the Kansas City Chiefs and Houston Texans, Sarah’s hat, whistle, and flag are now on display at the NFL Hall of Fame and serve as a testament to this historic achievement. Sarah also made post-season history by being named Down Judge for the Patriots/Chargers 2019 playoff game. No stranger to being the first or breaking gender-barriers, she was the first female official to ever work a major college football game, to officiate a bowl game and to officiate in a Big Ten stadium.
Since her addition to the NFL's roster of officials, she has become a trail-blazing inspiration to women everywhere, embodying the notion that with a belief in self, inner drive, hard work, preparation, and a mindset of being the best you can be, no barrier or ceiling is impenetrable.
With the same unflappability that it takes to make a split-second call on the field, Sarah exudes equal confidence on stage as she shares key insights on overcoming adversity – and the odds – finding your passion while maintaining work-life balance, decision-making, and not only succeeding as a female in a male-dominated industry but achieving breakthrough success for males and females alike.
