"Other districts around us are not teaching stop motion the same way that we do, if it at all. Our students get the satisfaction of creating a unique movie in an interesting way. Those skills can continue to be built upon and used for other projects in their academic life." Ashli Olivera, EES Technology Instructor
Recently, I found myself reflecting on how quickly time passes and how much things change and evolve. Not only do I think this about my own family, but I also feel the same about our Eudora Schools Foundation (ESF). In 2006, when the ESF was established, I had two young daughters and my husband began his sixth year of teaching in Eudora Schools. In the past 13 years, my family has grown up and so has the Foundation! One of the biggest signs of growth this year is the launch of our new website www.eudoraschoolsfoundation.org. This was a huge undertaking and allowed the ESF to share and showcase the ways that you, our donors, have made a difference in the Eudora schools. If you haven’t already, take a few minutes to get online and check us out. One new innovation that I’m excited to highlight is EHS Career Connect, where our Eudora High School students have opportunities to explore career options and learn from industry leaders. This fall, students are connecting with career professionals through numerous Lunch & Learn career panels and workplace site visits to places like Garmin and the University of Kansas Medical Center. Our Foundation is pleased to partner with the school district to offer these programs. Thanks for going on this incredible journey with us! Without you and your donations, the growth the ESF has experienced would not be possible. Thank you for helping us make Eudora schools the very best! Chrissy Mayer ESF President

"Whether it is an onsite visit, or a Lunch & Learn discussion, students are engaged and curious about what it takes to get from high school to that career," said Cathie Klein, EHS Career Internship Teacher. "Students come back from those opportunities with relevant and relatable knowledge of what could be and what it takes to achieve that goal. Connecting business and school is incredibly important as we prepare our youth for their future."

Eudora Career Connect Industry Site Visits & Career Panels Over 30 EHS students attend monthly industry-specific site visits, which provide them opportunities to speak with professionals and learn about advances in their industries. Students have already visited Garmin and The University of Kansas Medical Center, and more site visits are scheduled for the Spring semester. Additionally, the ESF hosts biweekly Lunch & Learn Career Panels to provide EHS students opportunities to learn from professionals in specific career fields.

"The role ESF plays in providing opportunities for teachers and students in Eudora cannot be overstated. The ESF fingerprint is everywhere, and our teachers and students benefit in ways that are difficult to measure." Kyle Stadalman, EMS 7th Grade Science Instructor
Lost at School Teacher Fellows Grant Recipients: Dace Inbody, Kelly Mulvihill & Ashli Olivera Our inaugural ESF Teacher Fellows spent the last year researching, training, and developing a plan of implementation to empower fellow staff members to effectively deal with and reach students with lagging skills. Their work has allowed them to be invited to present as state-wide conferences.
Gaga Ball Grant Recipient: Mitch Tegtmeier The EMS student success class built a Gaga Ball pit for the outdoor fitness and learning center. Students learned all kinds of trades by building the outdoor recreation court. Gaga Ball is an extremely popular youth game that combines dodging, striking, running, and jumping with the objective of being the last person standing in the court.
We would like to thank our supporters. You make it possible for the ESF to financially support innovative teacher projects and programming across the district.

OPPORTUNITIES
I started teaching in Eudora in the fall of 1968, as the high school Industrial Arts teacher and Driver's Education instructor. I wore a lot of different hats as an assistant football coach, bus driver, and an athletic director. During these years, I loved seeing my fellow teachers and students succeed. There is nothing like watching a student set a record or watching a student's eyes light up when they understand a concept in the classroom. I could barely handout the trophy when our basketball team made it to the state championship because of my excitement for those kids. I loved working at Eudora schools because of my colleagues and students. I still run into former students, they continue to call me Mr. McPherson, even though, I tell them to call me Larry. Through all the years, I learned that kids know when you care about them. Even today, when times have changed, kids know. Kids know when they matter and that you are taking time to understand them. During the past couple of years, I started reading articles about the Eudora Schools Foundation and also talking to parents about the ways their students have benefited from the Foundation's opportunities. I love the idea of our Eudora kids getting new experiences and teachers getting the support they need. This is the reason I give.
